Bug, first I like the new comments "People Ranting On". Second, I have only read one of the Harry Potter books and I was frankly a little bored with them. This is surprising as they seem to be something I would read and enjoy. What kills me is 4th grader's reading this stuff. Those books are really long. I'm going to agree with Leonie though, and ask for clarification.

Oh it wasn't exciting. Well it is, but only if you're a Harry Potter nut like me

You know how JK Rowling was killing off one of the favourite characters in this book? I LIKED that character!!!!!

I'm going to have to post properly - updates on the quasi-soap opera that is my life are needed :D

And Doug, the first book was boring. The second was better. The third and fourth were GREAT. Fifth I can take or leave, but it's worth seeing the movies at least (although the books are better)

Ah ok... Yeah I have read the first three, but I'm not a massive fan really. I liked the films, but I think there is so much better children/grown up literature out there and Harry Potter is overrated. I don't think it's shit or badly written, though, it's just over-hyped. Enjoy it though - like the rest of the known universe!

If you are into some soft fantasy novels, there is a trilogy you would probably enjoy:

    Daughter of the Empire
    Servent of the Empire
    Mistress of the Empire

I think what's really great about this trilogy is that it's obviously a fantasy novel but you don't really see it that way when reading. It's pretty much about a woman who has to basically run the family and keep other clans from ruining her clan. Since it's a male dominated world, there are all sorts of little things she has to struggle through. My description sucks, but if you get the chance, check them out.
